Duet duelling against the ticking clock
Duet for violin and marimba
This dynamic duet is an exploration of the existential attacks of two musicians against the seconds ticking away, inspired by the sentiments of a Roman senator who railed against time’s fleeting quality. Hopefully it reflects musicians ‘playing’ because as we all know, time flies when you are having fun!
Written in 2002, this 4-minute piece suits professionals and capable musicians. It was commissioned by marimba master Ryszard Pusz.
